Our Bodies Have an Innate Intelligence Capable of Healing Itself.

Chinese Medicine calls this body intelligence Qi (pronounced “chee”). Dis-ease is considered to arise when the body’s Qi is not in balance. Once balance is restored, health returns – physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The physical and mental stresses of everyday life that build up over weeks, months, and years can get in the way of this natural healing process. Think about how difficult it would be for your body to heal a simple scrape on the knee if you were to reinjure it every day! No matter how much we put our bodies through, this self-healing potential is still there – but the body’s intelligence often needs extra support. That’s where Golden Proportion Acupuncture comes in.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of one or more hair-thin needles on specific points on the body to activate the body’s innate immune system to promote healing and sustain wellness. There is much scientific research supporting the efficacy of acupuncture. From a biomedical perspective, it stimulates nerves, muscle tissue, and the release of natural chemicals in the body to relieve pain and help tissue heal. It also promotes relaxation by transiting the body from “fight or flight” mode into a relaxed state to further assist healing.

Fertility Acupuncture

I help women in their 30s & 40s, looking for a holistic solution to fertility challanges, get pregnant.

Conception will only occur when our children have a safe space to grow within our wombs. I hold the codes of the Immaculate Conception which allows me the honor of facilitating clearing and nourishing of the womb space.

Preparing the wombspace for conception whether or not fertility challanges are present help to transform generational trauma so that we are not passing down our “baggage” to the next generation.

Needle Free Acupuncture

For patients who would like to benefit from acupuncture therapy but have an aversion to needles, Golden Proportion Acupuncture offers a few alternative modalities: Laser “Acupuncture” and Piezo Crystal “Acupuncture.” We are excited to be able to provide individuals in our community with options for experiencing some of the benefits of acupuncture without the needles!

LASER “Acupuncture”

This treatment utilizes the principals of Chinese Medicine (TCM), but instead of needled, acupuncture points are activated by an FDA-approved 635nm fixed focused calibrated red laser device that is applied on the surface of the skin. This wavelength of light has been proven to penetrate at the depth of gentler styles of acupuncture, and the only sensation that is felt during treatment is the cool tip of the laser. Laser acupuncture is also a great option for our littlest patients.

PIEZO CRYSTAL “Acupuncture”

Did you know if you squeeze certain crystals such as quartz you can make electricity flow through them? Or have you ever had an “old school” quartz watch? If the answer is yes, then you have already used Piezo Crystal technology – better known as the piezoelectric effect. The feeling is similar to the small shock you might feel after walking barefoot across a rug. If you are a little more adventurous, but still apprehensive to needles, this is the perfect option for you!

Sports Acupuncture

Electro-acupuncture is a modern addition to acupuncture therapy. It utilizes the principles of Chinese Medicine (TCM), with the addition of a low-voltage electrical current passing through the needles during treatment. There is much scientific research supporting the efficacy of electro-acupuncture. This type of treatment is believed to affect the body’s natural electrical currents within the nervous system and muscles. The intensity of the current is based on patient preference as well as the particular area of the body being treated, and the sensations can range from a barely detectable buzzing or vibrating to visible muscle contractions. Combining electrical current with acupuncture further helps to reduce muscle spasms, reduce tension in muscles and other soft tissues, reduce pain, and aid in recovery and injury prevention.

Cupping

Myofacial Decompression

Myofascial Decompression – known as cupping – is an ancient form of medical treatment that can be dated back to as early as 168 B.C. Cups commonly made out of plastic, glass, or silicon are applied over the body at particular acupuncture points to create negative pressure through suction resulting in light pink to deep purple marks. Cupping increases circulation, bringing blood and oxygen to the area being treated. Toxic “old” blood is brought to the surface to be flushed away by the lymphatic system to support healing, while increased circulation reduces inflammation and pain. Cupping is used to treat many symptoms including acute and chronic pain, muscle tension, post workout muscle soreness and recovery, to promote musculoskeletal injury recovery and injury prevention, and to strengthen the immune system in times of acute illness.

Gua Sha

Similar to cupping, gua sha is an ancient form of medical therapy that helps to improve circulation in the body. Instead of cups, a small, smoothed-edge tool, commonly made of jade, is pressed and stroked on the skin, resulting in anywhere from light pink to deep purple marks. As with cupping, gua sha increases circulation, bringing blood and oxygen to the area being treated. Toxic “old” blood is brought to the surface to be flushed away by the lymphatic system to support healing, while increased circulation reduces inflammation and pain. It is commonly used to treat symptoms such as acute and chronic pain, muscle tension, post-workout muscle soreness and recovery, to promote musculoskeletal injury recovery and injury prevention, and to strengthen the immune system in times of acute illness. Gua sha has recently received a lot of attention from the cosmetic industry because it’s ability to increase circulation has been seen to improve the overall health of the skin. It is commonly combined with other non-invasive therapies to promote anti-aging effects as well as to treat other skin conditions such as dark under eye circles and puffiness.

Infrared & Grounding Therapy

The BioMat™ is an FDA-approved medical device that produces deep-penetrating light energy and heat for a maximum healing experience. Based on Nobel prize-winning research, the BioMat™ is capable of administering deep stimulation and healing by activating the body at the molecular level. Adjustable temperatures range from a gentle warmth to the effects of a heated sauna during your treatment.

When booking your appointment, please specify whether you would like your treatment to include BioMat™ therapy.

LED Light Therapy

Research has shown that light emitting diode (LED), or phototherapy, enhances cell production and performance in much the same way that plants convert sunlight into energy. This can stimulate circulation, accelerate tissue repair, decrease inflammation, and ease muscle and joint pain and stiffness. The low-level light therapy we use at Golden Proportion Acupuncture has been cleared by the FDA for the treatment of pain management, inflammation, and skin conditions such as acne, wrinkles, and other anti-aging uses.

When booking your appointment, please specify whether you would like your treatment to include LED Light Therapy.

HALO (Salt) Therapy

Coming Soon!

Halotherapy has been a trusted respiratory solution for hundreds of years. The modern history of halotherapy started in the salt mines of Poland in 1800. Interest in this modality peaked when the salt miners were less likely to develop respiratory conditions like colds or coughs that were common in their communities. Over the years, elaborate rooms have been carved into these mines, and tourists from around the world visit them each year.
